Affirmations are positive statements that describe a personal desire, which when repeated frequently, impress the subconscious mind and trigger it into positive action, thus creating the desired outcome.
In order to ensure the effectiveness of affirmations, they need to be repeated often with attention, conviction, feeling and with a sense of they have already actualized.
Many people repeat in their minds negative words and statements concerning situations and events in their lives, and consequently, reinforce creation of undesirable outcomes. Words and statements work both ways, positively and negatively, to created or destroy. It is how we use afirmations that determines whether desirable or undesirable outcomes will result. Often, people repeat negative statements in their minds, being unaware of what they are doing. Do you keep thinking and telling yourself that you cannot do something, you are too lazy, lack inner strength, or that you are going to fail? Your subconscious mind accepts as true whatever you keep thinking, and eventually attracts events and situations into your life, irrespective of whether they are desirable or not. Consciously choose positive statements and affirmations and your true desires will more likely materialize. Affirmations program the mind in the same way that commands and scripts program a computer. Words or phrases repeated help you to focus your mind on your desire. They create images in your conscious mind, which affect the subconscious mind, similar to creative visualization. The conscious mind, the mind you think with, starts this process, and then the subconscious mind takes over. By using affirmations consciously and intently, you can affect your subconscious mind, transforming your habits, behavior, mental attitudes & reactions, and reshaping your physical and external life. Sometimes, results can appear quickly, but usually more time is required. Depending on your goal, sometimes, you might attain immediate results, and other times, it might take days, weeks, months or longer. Results are dependant upon several factors, including amount of time, frequency, conviction, beliefs and feelings you put forth in repeating your affirmations. Keep in mind that repeating positive affirmations for a few minutes, and then thinking negatively for the rest of the day, neutralizes the effects of your affirmations. When negative thoughts arise, work to not dwell on them. Meditation is an excellent practice to help you train your mind to let go of negative thoughts. more |
